History of the land of Hastinapur

For every person who considers India as its motherland, fatherland or a holy land, every inch of it is worthy of a mention. It assumes even more significance, where great men and Tirthankaras have attained enlightenment. Such places are superlative among pilgrims. Amongst such great places, there is an eminent historic pilgrimage named Hastinapur. It located in Northern India, 110 km North East of Delhi, near the city of Meerut.

According to the ‘Jainagams’, Hastinapur was built at the beginning of the civilization along with the holy Indian cities of Ayodhya and Kashi. This was the time when the first Jain Tirthankara, ‘Shri Rishabhdev’, laid the foundation of the devotion centric Karma, while putting an end to the Bhog Bhumi (Akarma Bhumi).
